Water is necessary as 66% of your body is water (cells, organs etc.) Proper hydration provides for proper body function, down to the cellular level. Being hydrated will also prevent your skin from getting dry. While drinking water will not cause you to lose weight, by substituting it for drinks with calories, such as soda, juice and sports drinks, you will be cutting all those calories out of your diet (for me it is something like 500 to 750 calories per day) you would in turn lose weight. Some waters also contain minerals which are good for your body! I really hope this helps.

dehydrated cells can not function properly and will metabolism caloric energy at a much lower rate than properly hydrated cells. water also helps make you feel full so you aren’t reaching for that snack every half hour. its important to get 2-3 liters a day depending on how active you are. water also helps your organs to function properly. when your organs aren’t hydrated it can slow your metabolism down as well. here is more info: http://www.myfooddiary.com/resources/ask…

You need to drink enough water for general health and body function. It doesn’t have anything to do with weight loss.

Hunger is one of the first signs of dehydration. So, when a person drinks a lot of water the body recognizes that it is not actually hungry, it just needed some good ol’ H2O.
Another reason that water is good for weight loss is because it is very filling. Water can keep you feeling full and satisfied.
