Can Being Lactose Intolerant Be Beneficial In The Weight Loss Process?
I am lactose intolerant and this causes me to go #2 alot. I have read that being lactose intolerant, my body is NOT absorbing important nutrients (such as calcium) if it is passing through my system so fast. With that said, is it also possible that my body is not absorbing the fat either? In other words, can drinking milk cause me to lose weight? If I were to eat fatty foods, followed by a big glass of milk, can this milk essentially “push” out all the other fatty foods, thus, being a fast way to lose weight? My stools are generally floaters, which suggests fat to me. True?
I would not generally suggest using lactose intolerance as a weight loss technique. You can overdo it and it can end up very painful as your stomache bloats like a balloon. The other problem, as you have mentioned is that you will not be getting any nutrients in such a diet and it will have negative effects. The perfect diet is NOT one where you effectively eat nothing.
In saying all of the above, I am very guilty of eating whatever I like and then taking in a bit of milk. It kind of makes sure that I don’t gain any addtitional weight just because one fatty splurge. But I dont think this is a form of dietting because I still have a normal diet. But in essence… Yes- it could HYPOTHETICALLY be used to lose weight.
