I Need Input From People Who Have Actually Tried Water Fasts?

If you have a negative opinion of them even though you have never tried them, that’s fine, but I REALLY want to hear it from people who have actually done it.
I’ve heard of all the great benefits like mental clarity and such, but I don’t wanna kill my metabolism in the process. So if you lost weight, were you able to keep it off? If not, did you notice a drop in your metabolism?
Thanks
And for the record, I’m not doing this for weight loss, but I don’t want to balloon up afterwards.

I went on three water fasts several years ago. I did it not for weight loss, but because I thought it would cleanse my body of toxins and improve my general health.
When I was on my water fasts, I felt tired and weak and didn’t have any enhanced mental clarity. I would not do a water fast again as it just didn’t seem very healthy. That’s just my personal opinion and I have no scientific evidence as to whether water fasts are healthy or not.
    Additional Info:
I was pretty lean when I went on my water fasts, but I still ended up losing a pound or two. I gained this weight right back as soon as I ended my fasts.

10 days won’t lose anything but water and muscle. Fat is the last thing our body wants to lose.
Loss of muscle means loss of metabolism. If your metabolism is low, any calories you eat afterwards will be more readily stored as fat. Not burned off.
