How Much Weight Should I Expect To Lose?

I know, all of our bodies are different but I thought I’d ask anyways. I am trying to lose weight through better eating and exercise, how much is a good amount of weight loss to aim for over 3 months? I am female, 5′7 and 170 lbs, I gained 40 lbs over the past year and a half. My natural weight is around 130 lbs. I read that something like 30 lbs would be too high, tell me if that’s unrealistic. Also, the way I put on weight hasnt been by eating lots of normal food along with junk too, but a lot of my diet for the past year has been 97% fastfoods, fatty foods and stuff, and since I would be going from this back to a healthy vegetarian diet (but not ridiculously low calorie) wouldnt’ this cause my body to lose some weight quick or something? (I had an overeating problem but I’m better now, just ready to get to a healthy weight again). Thanks

I’m glad to hear you are taking the right steps to bettering your health. When you begin to lose weight, you will lose it fast at first.. about 10 lbs. But don’t get upset when it feels like that is all you’ve lost. Your body needs time for these things, especially getting used to the new exercise and healthier foods (believe me, it’s an addiction to be lazy). It’s after that initial weight lose that is the harder part but stick to it, the weight will go down. 3 months, pending on how much you exerise, you should be able to lose 20.. I feel 30 is just too big a strain. Remember, the faster you lose weight, the harder it is to keep your skin looking healthy and not stretched. If stretch marks do appear, apply Vitamin E oil to your skin. Also be sure to take a multivitamin with a decent meal, it will prevent your joints from locking up. Good luck!

I would say that losing 2-3 lbs a week is staying within a healthy range. So you should lose about 24 lbs or so in three months easily. Good Luck!

You should expect a 1 to 2 pound loss a weeks so over a period of 12 weeks anywhere from 12 to 24 pounds so 30 is realistic if you pusha little hard. It would still be a healthy weight loss. Good Luck!

My field is in fashion, as a result many people ask me how they can slim down. My answer is always the same: good diet and exercise. But I found this great product which I think helps a lot in the process. I recommend you check this website
http://www.hawkeyep.info , they have a free trial and you only pay 6.95$ shipping and handling. Good luck!

I’d say 1-3 lbs per week is well within a normal range. You may find it difficult to maintain an average loss of 2-3 lbs per week. Initially yes, your body might just get the fright of its life and you’ll make an initial drop, but it is harder to maintain that so don’t be disappointed if you don’t see the weight drop as fast as you expect it to.
Also, when you lose your weight slowly there is less chance of it piling back on. Always the risk of a fast weight loss is a fast weight gain, so be slow and steady to stay on track.
Watch your portion sizes and allow yourself every now and then to have something you really enjoy, because weight loss shouldn’t be a chore, it should be a lifestyle/mindset change about what and how you eat. If you forbid yourself all of the things you love, then you may not succeed.
30lbs in 3 months is certainly possible, but I would be careful to do it safely otherwise it might not stay off.
    Good luck.

Negative Calorie Foods

The phrase, "negative calorie food", as highlighted in negative calorie diet programs and books, usually refers to foods that allegedly require more energy to digest than they contain. Since the process of digestion requires the use of calories for energy, sometimes the net amount of metabolizable energy available from a food is less than the gross number of calories contained in the food.
